Tomber amoureuse ne faisait pas partie de la mission de Bethany, un ange envoyé sur terre pour lutter contre les forces du mal. Mais le lien entre Beth et son petit ami Xavier semble indissoluble... Jusqu'à ce qu'un piège fatal la précipite en Enfer, entre les mains du redoutable démon Jake. Le pacte qu'il propose en échange de sa libération est une menace de mort pour Beth... et pour ceux qu'elle aime. Alors que les Ténèbres se rapprochent, l'ange Bethany doit choisir : l'avenir du monde ou l'amour avec un grand A ?
Mon avis
Cette suite est toujours aussi mignonne.
Xavier et Bethany sont inséparables, leur amour fusionnel est même un peu inquiétant (ce que leurs amis pensent aussi), mais pour des lecteurs fleur bleu, c’est tout à fait attendrissant. Néanmoins, des obstacles s’obstinent à se dresser entre eux, et particulièrement Jake, le démon déjà vu dans le premier volet, et qui porte un intérêt grandissant envers Beth.
L’incursion à Hadès, l’Enfer, rend l’atmosphère un peu plus sombre, et Beth voit des choses assez glauques qui se passent et qui écornent un peu la bulle rose qu’elle avait formée avec Xavier. Malgré tout, cela reste encore très innocent.
Les autres personnages, Gabriel et Ivy, sont insuffisamment développés, et pourtant, ils ont du potentiel pour avoir leur propre histoire, mais l’auteur choisit de se focaliser sur Beth et Xavier.
Jake dit à un moment que Beth ne vit plus au pays des Bisounours, et pourtant, malgré les épreuves et les ennemis qui salissent le décor, le Bien finit toujours pas triompher, et la morale est sauve. Si vous avez aimé le premier tome et que vous apprécié le sucre, ce roman satisfera vos papilles.
