Local metalsmith and gift shop owner, Dahlia McGuire, likes her quiet life in Hartwell, Delaware. Mon avis

Après deux romans réussis dans la saga de Hart’s Boardwalk, Samantha Young revient enfin avec la suite centrée sur Dahlia, un personnage sur qui on ne s’attardait pas, mais qui a finalement une histoire très intéressante. Je suis ravie d’avoir pu connaitre davantage de son passé, j’ai souffert avec elle et je suis heureuse de voir qu’elle a pu se forger une vie paisible dans la ville de Hartwell.

Le livre se compose de deux parties distinctes, qui permettent de comprendre l’intrigue et les deux personnages principaux. La romance est très douce, typique du style de Samantha Young, avec quelques incompréhensions au départ, puis un héros très déterminé à parvenir à ses fins, malgré les doutes et les inquiétudes de l’héroïne. Les deux personnages font chaud au cœur à se retrouver après tellement de drames.

La partie policière m’a moins convaincue par contre, car arrivant comme un cheveu sur la soupe, et ne sert véritablement que pour la suite des romans. Je préfère rester dans le cocon de la small town romance. Mais cela ne dessert pas le livre qui est plus que réussi. J’ai tellement hâte d’avoir l’histoire d’Emery et Jack !
