Mon avis

C’est un tome tout doux qui se passe toujours dans l’univers de la ville d’Ardnoch. Allegra est la petite sœur d’Aria, la gérante du complexe, et a du mal à trouver sa place dans un pays et dans sa famille suite à des révélations que je n’avais pas vu venir, et qui change ma perception sur ce personnage qu’on accuse à tort d’être frivole. Jared est le cousin de Sarah, l’autrice, et peine à gérer la ferme familiale. 

Tous deux ont ressenti une attraction instantanée mais viennent de deux mondes complètement différents et ont des préjugés, l’un davantage que l’autre. Un arrangement va les forcer à cohabiter et à se connaitre plus profondément. La romance est facile mais efficace, c’est une histoire mignonne mais pas vraiment creusée.

L’excuse du mariage blanc passe un peu trop légèrement à mon goût, peut-être qu’en Ecosse les formalités sont inexistantes mais Samantha Young préfère mettre le danger dans une énième intrigue policière qui fait vraiment de ce coin perdu d’Ecosse un endroit maudit. On voit un peu les autres personnages de l’univers mais surtout les plus récents.

Un volet simple et pas prise de tête à lire, en attendant un tome sur certains des enfants qui auront bien grandi au fil de tous ces romans et les sauts dans le temps.
