Mon avis

On a enfin la suite de la saga après 3 ans et demi d’attente en VO! En effet, je ne compte pas le guide et le livre du point de vue de Casteel qui étaient inutiles pour moi. On avance donc dans l’intrigue et l’univers, et il y a énormément d’informations nouvelles à digérer, en plus de toutes les scènes d’action que doivent affronter Poppy et Cas. Ça fait beaucoup, et si j’ai aimé suivre la guerre contre le grand ennemi et les révélations faites, le rythme rapide me frustre un peu car outre le peu de place de certains personnages, il y a des conversations qui sont interrompues ou mises de côté par manque de temps et par peur alors que la communication devrait être la clé du couple, surtout après tout ce qu’ils ont déjà vécu. Je les aime tellement donc j’étais frustrée et pas trop à l’aise avec les non-dits. 
Fait aléatoire : je trouve qu’ils boivent beaucoup d’alcool, il y a beaucoup de scènes avec ça, ça m’a fait bizarre.

Les croisements des sagas de l’autrice sont nombreux, mieux avoir lu toute la saga La chair et le feu pour tout saisir, et ce serait parfait d’avoir aussi lu The Fall of Ruin and Wrath.

On finit sur un grand point d’interrogation mais normalement, il n’y a plus qu’à attendre jusqu’au printemps 2026 pour avoir la conclusion de la série.
