Le dernier roman de Mia Sheridan est une nouvelle merveille à savourer lentement, comme le temps qui passe dans la magnifique ville de La Nouvelle Orléans. Clara vient de débarquer à NOLA après avoir été recrutée dans le ballet de la ville. Elle s’intéresse à la légende de la plantation Windisle et fait une mystérieuse découverte.

Le livre alterne deux histoires entremêlées entre passé et présent, toutes les deux remplies d’émotions et qui brisent le cœur, avec cette douceur du style inimitable de Mia Sheridan. Que ce soit la discrimination liée au racisme ou au handicap, le regard et le rejet des autres sont les mêmes et font mal, et ne devraient plus exister. Heureusement, les sentiments amoureux puissants et sincères en font un excellent récit. Le fait que le décor soit celui de l’une de mes villes préférées est un bonus très appréciable, et j’ai aimé parcourir les différents quartiers de NOLA.
