However, their fiery liaison leads to a deep emotional connection that unsettles them both, and North will have to break down more than Aria's trust issues if they're ever to have a future together. He'll need to protect her from a past that just doesn't want to stay buried... or lose something far more essential to his existence than his career.

Mon avis

On reconnait bien le style de Samantha Young à force de lire les romans de cette saga qui ne semblent pas s’épuiser. Nous restons dans le monde clos et privilégié d’Ardnoch avec ses dramas à n’en plus finir et toujours aussi abracadabrants les uns que les autres. Le concentré d’intrigues policières dans ce coin est fou, ce dont semble se moquer l’autrice qui en a même plaisanté dans certains des anciens volets.

Pour une fois cependant, le héros est tout mignon et ne fait pas une grosse bêtise et devoir se rattraper auprès de sa chérie. C’est lui qui souhaite communiquer, respecte les limites quand il le faut et est globalement plus attaché à elle que l’inverse au départ. Aria a été échaudée par ses relations passées avec des acteurs donc elle ne leur fait plus confiance et met des barrières assez hautes à franchir. Mais c’était sans compter l’insistance de North. La romance est assez attendrissante.

On voit beaucoup moins la famille Adair, les deux protagonistes étant un peu en dehors du cercle intime, ce qui est dommage car les aperçus qu’on a montrent que les personnages continuent à évoluer dans la vie.
