Mon avis

Troisième tome de la saga Highlands, on change un peu de décor car on se retrouve dans un huis clos loin d’Ardnoch avec ces deux personnages que tout oppose à part la passion pour la fiction. On revoit toutefois un peu les personnages de la saga, mais ils sont tellement nombreux que je perds un peu le fil de qui est avec qui haha

La romance est totalement dans le style des romans de Samantha Young, avec une femme à l’apparence timide et vulnérable mais qui cache une grande force de caractère quand il le faut, et un héros riche et alpha qui va commettre des erreurs et va devoir ramer pour regagner les faveurs de sa belle. C’est doux et déjà vu pour les fans de l’autrice. J’ai bien aimé que l’héroïne soit une autrice à succès autoéditée avec tout le processus derrière qu’a dû sûrement suivre Samantha Young elle-même.

L’intrigue est plus calme mais il y a ce fichu aspect policier qui débarque toujours dans cet univers, et ça commence un peu à fatiguer, comme si tous les personnages étaient maudits. Il pourrait y avoir des rebondissements ou des dramas un peu plus originaux quand même, car je trouve que cela n’apporte rien au livre.

Le roman se lit facilement mais ce n’est pas mon favori de l’autrice.
